As a writer I'm facing 'existential crisis'.

Not because I don't use AI. I use it and it's really good.

But I do writing for thinking.

That's a given.

But writing for presentation, for blogging, for video scripting, for copywriting.

How should one go about it? Any advice?

I would say try to put raw notes of your idea and then use AI to refine the idea.

Don't rely too much on AI to generate the idea.

Love this take. I'll go further - if AI is helping you type, and helping you think - you should wonder what you're going to do with the time you save. Where do you put that? Seeking out more real writing, perhaps?

Good food for thought Vineet. Hopefully, the time we save, we can actually put in for more real writing and not use that free time to further use AI to save even more time. This can become a vicious loop.

Lovely article as I have started writing and always feel guilty using chat GPT but I am trying that I still write 70-80 pct of article then use AI to refine it, improve grammar or generate headlines.

Thanks for reading Ankur. How much of it you use is totally dependent on you and so subjective but the point is that if strips us off the learning or ideation process completely then we may become worse off. It should be used to complement or further refine our ideation process.
