The Dumbledore note taking process and 5 books I reviewed
How my note taking process helps me access memories from the past and write better
One of the unfortunate lost habits of the digital age:
Writing by hand.
Putting pen to paper by hand reinforces neural activity in the brain.
There's a reason why you recollect certain things better when you've noted them down by hand.
This helps in the writing process too because it helps you recollect memories or readings of the past that have been reinforced in your brain.
This is my stack of handwritten notes of books I've managed to take notes of, revisiting them gives an idea of the concepts taught in these books because you will definitely forget what you read.
When reading fiction books I prefer to let my mind run wild and I generally avoid taking notes.
Remember this process that Dumbledore follows?
He stores the memories in the Pensieve at Hogwarts for another day and can revisit the memory at any time he wishes to and not just him, it also helps Harry to visit the Pensieve when Dumbledore has gone to see what Dumbledore has seen in the past to help him in his quest.
Writing follows the same process, the essence of writing is to capture words that can get lost to the atrophy of memory.
Anytime you read a book, blog, report, or any article there is a high chance you will forget most of the contents of that source as time passes.
Writing helps you revisit those memories.
When we get an idea, when we get inspired, the truth crosses us and when the truth crosses us, we feel like this truth is so clear and that it makes so much sense that we'll never forget it.
Newsflash - You will forget it.
That's one of the values of writing - it prevents the rusting of your mind.
Well here are 5 health books that have had a great impact on the way I look at health and fitness in my life and I penned down the key highlights from my notes from these books for an exclusive article I wrote for Truth Be Told.

I would recommend you buy one of these books but if you are someone who is new to reading books on health, go for Dopamine Nation.
There is another book that I did not review in this piece but one I would also add to my must-read books on health- Outlived by Dr Peter Attia.
The book focuses on a world that needs to shift from Medicine 2.0 to Medicine 3.0, a world that focuses on prevention first and then treatment.
I did a brief Twitter thread on this book too in case you need a summary before picking it up:

Happy Reading and wish you a great week.
